It might seem natural to have less concern over children’s oral health issues because they will lose their baby teeth anyway.
The reality is failing to maintain proper oral health in children can be very costly to children, both in the present and their future.

We offer a variety of dental treatments offered to prevent tooth decay in children, or to save or repair teeth.
Dental sealants are thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars to prevent decay in the pits and fissures.
Topical fluoride applications, either in the form of gels, foams, or varnishes, can be applied to strengthen enamel and make teeth more resistant to decay.
In cases where decay has reached the pulp (nerve) of the tooth, a pulpotomy may be performed to remove the infected portion while preserving the remaining healthy pulp tissue.
Stainless steel crowns may be used to restore badly decayed or damaged primary teeth, providing protection and maintaining proper function until the tooth naturally falls out.
Tooth-colored composite fillings can be used to repair cavities in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and helps maintain the tooth's natural appearance.
In cases of severe decay or damage, a tooth may need to be extracted to prevent the spread of infection to surrounding teeth.
Sedation in pediatric dentistry involves the administration of safe and controlled medications to help children relax and remain calm during dental procedures. This specialized service ensures a comfortable and stress-free experience, allowing pediatric dentists to perform necessary treatments with minimal anxiety for young patients.

Pediatric Dentist
Hello! I’m Dr. Marisabel Olivera and I absolutely LOVE making kids smile. I attended Nova Southeastern University in Florida and then completed my two year post-doctorate hospital training in Pediatric Dentistry at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. I served as chief resident and received rigorous training in behavior management, operating room dentistry, trauma, and emergency treatment during my residency program. I am certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and I am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Florida Dental Association (FDA), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).
At Journey Kids Dental, my team and I provide both preventative and therapeutic oral health care for children, starting from infancy through adolescence. I am passionate about caring for those with special needs and I am committed to promoting oral health in a warm and nurturing environment. When I'm not in the office, you'll find me racing cars and building princess castles with my wonderful children, Dominic and Isabella. I believe in creating moments of joy and making smiles brighter, whether it's through my work or spending quality time with my family.
